Ships Point Estate

Rooted
in history
restored
with grace
Timeless elegance meets coastal heritage
in a restored Maryland estate, where
every detail tells a story of craftsmanship.
Perched along Maryland’s Eastern Shore, the storied Ship’s Point Estate underwent a meticulous transformation rooted in reverence for its past and vision for its future. Wiedemann Architects, in collaboration with BPH Interiors, orchestrated a design that honored the home’s architectural legacy while infusing it with thoughtful modernity. Handcrafted hardware from Classic Brass played a quiet but powerful role in this vision. From the refined walnut-paneled library to the stately doors that frame views of the Chesapeake, the hardware serves as both a functional element and a lasting detail—one that feels intrinsic to the home’s character.
The weight of the doors and the feel of
the hardware in one’s hands is one of
the first elements of the home that greets
a visitor and establishes a level of quality
that contributed to its success.
Historic Soul
Traditional forms, rendered in a mix of polished nickel and dark bronze finishes, create a tactile thread throughout the interiors. The gleaming nickel cremone bolts on the French doors leading to the portico provide more than function—they offer a sense of ceremony. In the library, dark bronze knobs echo the depth of the walnut paneling, while in the kitchen, polished nickel pulls and knobs punctuate the custom cabinetry with a crisp, cohesive finish. These pieces do more than blend in—they define the atmosphere of each room with weight, presence, and enduring craftsmanship.
