Kips Bay
A Romance
in Brass and
Burgundy
Bathed in deep hues and warm brass,
this kitchen blends rich tradition with the
quiet beauty of purposeful design.
At the 2025 Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse in Palm Beach, Rajni Alex crafts a kitchen that captures both nostalgia and modern elegance. Inspired by the romantic spirit of old-world Florida, the space is wrapped in rich tones of burgundy and rouge and unfolds as a study in layered materiality and refined restraint. Deep brown custom cabinetry provides a grounding backdrop for luminous details, among them the Classic Brass Apres Collection in antique brass. Diamond-banded pulls and cross-hatch knobs lend a sense of quiet ornamentation, each piece catching the light with a gentle gleam. Paired with the bold veining of Calacatta Viola marble, sculptural lighting, and hand-applied plaster finishes, the hardware helps compose a kitchen that feels storied and sophisticated.

selections are unmatched.
There’s truly something for
everyone and every style.
Refined Function
The kitchen’s unique layout and back-of-house location posed challenges that the team turned into opportunities—crafting moments of intimacy and cohesion through intentional material choices. “We like to think of hardware as the jewelry of the room,” Alex shares, and Classic Brass delivers with craftsmanship and style that stands out. Visitors to the showhouse take notice—praising the hardware’s elegance, weight, and timeless character. The result is a space that feels both historic and modern, refined yet inviting—with hardware that not only holds everything together, but helps it shine.
